Operating principle and advantages of a dry concrete plant:
- A dry mix plant and a wet mix plant differ primarily in the time of adding water to the concrete mix. In a dry mix plant, dry ingredients such as cement, sand, gravel and other aggregates are dosed and mixed without water. The dry composite is then transported to the construction site in a concrete mixer truck, where water is added during transport or just before the concrete is poured.
- One of the main advantages of dry mix concrete plants is their ability to transport materials over long distances without the risk of premature hydration.
- This makes them particularly useful in large-scale infrastructure projects where the concrete plant and the construction site may not be in close proximity.
